Stroller Mums take to the trails at Varsity Lakes

Stroller MumsDelfin Varsity Lakes mums and their bubs have proven fitness can be a walk in the park, with the Varsity Lakes Stroller Group kicking off its fourth year as part of the community’s ongoing sport and recreation program.

Started by fitness instructor and mother Theresa Wells in April 2006, the Varsity Lakes Stroller Group encourages local mums to get out and get fit with their toddlers in tow, on the boardwalks and parks of Varsity Lakes.

Delfin Varsity Lakes senior project director Carl Bruhn said it was great to see such a diverse range of sport and recreation groups in the community.

“Since we began building the Varsity Lakes community ten years ago, Delfin Lend Lease have been committed to providing residents with many options to get active close to home, so it is great to see residents jumping on board,” Mr Bruhn said.

“The Stroller Group is an excellent example of a fitness group that is making the most of what is on offer here, taking their weekly classes around some of the 20 kilometres of hike and bike trails and enjoying the great weather here on the Gold Coast.”

Varsity Lakes will comprise 4,500 homes upon projected completion in 2011 and up to 100,000-square metres of commercial space in town centre Varsity Central. It will become home to more than 10,000 residents and more than 6,000 employees.

Varsity Lakes is being developed by Delfin Lend Lease, Australia’s largest developer of master planned communities, with 25 projects nationally.
