Varsity Lakes will kick-start 2010 with a range of activities for all ages to make the most of the warm weather as the community celebrates its annual Summer Buzz Festival.
The month-long program offers a range of activities including fun classes for kids, fitness classes for the adults and a free Twilight Cinema under the stars for the whole family.
Bring the family and ‘bolt’ down to the Market Square Amphitheatre on Saturday January 23 to secure a seat for the free lakeside screening of the animated canine movie Bolt.
This year, kids can choose from a range of entertaining hour-long classes including Kids Cook, Kite Making, Hip Hoppers Dance Class, Fashionista’s, Circus Skills and the always popular Titans Skills Clinic.
Varsity Lakes Senior Project Director Carl Bruhn said the festival’s program promotes outdoor recreation, health and fitness and features something for everyone.
“We wanted to take advantage of our expansive facilities by offering activities like boxercise, circus skills, kite making and sailing for this year’s Summer Buzz,” Mr Bruhn said.
“We’re excited to welcome back the Titans for their rugby league clinic where kids have the opportunity to meet Titans players, receive a goodies bag and enjoy learning about Rugby League.
“For those who want to get their hearts racing, boxercise classes will be held every Tuesday and Thursday at the North Shore Lakeside Park.”
